Portfolio Energy Consumption Analysis
summarizes the variance from the target for the
whole portfolio in a single number, by calculating
the weighted average of the previous day’s energy
consumption as a percentage of the consumption
predicted by the model. The weighting is the
relative energy consumption of each building.
This data is available for the whole portfolio,
and calculated by region and individual building,
allowing actual energy consumption to be
compared with the forecast for the entire portfolio.
Building Comfort Analysis
shows whether the
building or foor is staying within the range of
temperature and humidity specifed as comfortable.
It calculates the percentage of time that the comfort
levels are achieved, uncovering any variation in
performance.
Portfolio comfort analysis
calculates a single
percentage measurement for the effciency with
which the temperature and humidity of the whole
portfolio are being controlled. It calculates the
weighted average percentage of time that the
desired comfort levels are achieved, weighted by
the relative energy consumption of each building.
This data is available for the whole portfolio, and
calculated by region and individual building.
The Galaxy™ Measurement and Verifcation service
warns the facilities manager immediately if building

Pacifc Controls pioneering Global Command
Control Center (GCCC), running on the Galaxy™
platform, delivers smart building management
services to optimize energy consumption 24x7.
Powered by intelligent software agents called Gbots
the Galaxy™ system leads the world in building
performance optimization. The GCCC provides fve
smart managed services:
5.1 Measurement and Verifcation
Pacifc Controls Galaxy™ Measurement and
Verifcation service (M&V) remotely measures and
verifes all key building performance parameters,
including energy consumption, equipment
performance and building comfort. It benchmarks
the building facilities against international standards
and local Department of Energy (or similar) data
and summarizes the results in graphics and reports.
It also compares the performance of buildings
across a client portfolio in real time. This allows
the client to reduce building operation costs by
being able to respond to performance anomalies
24 hours a day, every day. The measurement and
verifcation service includes the following processes:
Building Energy Consumption Base Lining
creates a software model of the building’s energy
consumption based on past
performance. This is compared
against relevant benchmarks and
used to forecast daily energy
consumption in the future using
both the model and data on the
past 5 years’ average temperatures.
Building Energy Consumption
Analysis
compares the previous day’s
energy consumption against both
the forecast energy consumption
and the forecast adjusted for actual temperatures.
Reports are produced for both actual and projected
consumption in the month to date as well as the
year to date. This information allows performance
anomalies to be identifed, and the impact of any
energy conservation measures to be calculated.
