Pacific Controls creates the World’s first fully
e-Enabled residential building for ‘The Waterfront’ at Dubai
Marina
Dubai,
September 18, 2005: Pacific Control Systems, the global
leader in automation, has announced ‘The Waterfront’ project
as the world’s first full-fledged e-Enabled residential
building. Located at the Dubai Marina, this premier
20-storey Waterfront development is a signature project of
the Hong Kong-based Trident International Holdings (TIH),
which appointed Pacific Controls for "total" automation of
the building by implementing Web-enabled Home Automation
Systems in all the apartments of this luxury tower and
integrating it with the Building Management System (BMS).
The integrated system is connected with the World Wide Web
and the Building is completely "transparent" through a Web
portal that can be accessed by all the apartment owners,
service providers and facility managers from anywhere in the
world. The Building is also connected with Pacific Controls’
24x7x365 Command Control Centre, which enables remote
monitoring of security, all the electromechanical services
and facility management services.
Home owners at The Waterfront have the luxury of
e-Lifestyle. All the functions of a home such as lighting,
air-conditioning, audio-visual, home theatre, security,
pumps, LAN cameras, curtains, power distribution, electrical
appliances etc. can be easily controlled with a single
touch. The state-of-the-art e-Home Terminal with touch
capability in each home functions as a gateway to the world
of Internet services.
The Web-enabled Home Automation System provides the
opportunity for home owners to view their homes from
anywhere in the world, carry out virtual parenting, check on
near and dear ones from anywhere, check the services within
the room, set the air-conditioning on energy save mode,
check the status of the security system, check on the status
of connected appliances, integrate their audio and video
system to the home automation system, integrate the lighting
system etc. The B2C portal of Pacific Controls will provide
full services for virtual shopping for all requirement of
the home like procurement of food, milk, water, grocery,
laundry, rent a car, pay bills, have access to entertainment
etc.
"This project will stand as a testimony to our success in
the home and building automation space as it is the World’s
first fully e-Enabled residential building," said Dilip
Rahulan, Chairman and CEO of Pacific Controls adding, "The
uniqueness of this super luxury Waterfront development is
its engineering architecture, wherein the automation is made
up to the grassroots level, i.e. from each home to the
building level. All the 71 residential units’ Web-enabled
Home Automation Systems are integrated with the Building
Management System (BMS), thus creating a "Total Transparent
Building"."
Each home has a Web-enabled Home Automation System that is
integrated with the Building Management System (BMS)
providing comfortable lifestyle management combined with
security and ease-of-use. "We offer the world’s only open
protocol, M2M, future-ready, secure wireless Home Automation
System with 24x7x365 days remote monitoring," pointed out
Mr.Rahulan.
Mr. Sadruddin Inayat Ali, Managing Director of Trident said,
"Our market focus in this region is to offer
state-of-the-art solutions to customers that will
differentiate us from competition. This status has been
achieved with the announcement of The Waterfront as the
world’s first fully residential e-Building, which is a proof
of our commitment in providing customers with solutions that
go way beyond their expectations."
Each unit at The Waterfront is networked through a high
speed digital backbone with remote accessible, plug ‘n’ play
controllers. All alarms both critical alarms (such as fire,
attempt to break-in, power outages etc.), and other
non-critical alarms (such as equipment failure, fault etc.)
can be remotely monitored and the details are sent instantly
via SMS alerts to the concerned occupants of the building.
The control of lights depending on the occupancy pattern,
and time-based air-conditioning control and zone temperature
monitoring, Home, Away and Vacation modes, bring about
substantial savings to energy consumption.
