Automated Equipment Thermal Transfer
Performance Analysis
measures the thermal
characteristics of equipment and then compares
them with their specifcations, averages and past
performance. As with the energy consumption
analysis, this module will automatically identify
ineffciencies, recommend improvements and
subsequently verify their impact.
Automated On-Demand Exercising of
Equipment
can be carried out to capture
operating data over a specifed period. This will
automatically allow Galaxy to report any equipment
which does not perform to expectations.
Sensor Failure Analysis
automatically checks
all sensors against their expected operating range
and produces a list of faulty sensors.
Space Temperature Set Point Analysis
checks
that both heating and cooling set points and
occupation times are correctly confgured. It will
produce a list of out-of-tolerance settings and re-
confgure those that are confrmed as incorrect.
The Event Management
system intelligently
groups tasks together so that commissioning and
fault correction can be scheduled effciently. Active
tasks are prioritized for review by the building
managers.
Continuous Commissioning ensures that
equipment always operates at optimum effciency.
This both reduces costs and, at the same time,
ensures the building occupants have the highest
possible quality of environment. Continuous
commissioning is also a tool for the implementation
that also provide guidance for further reduction
strategies. Reports are automatically generated
in the correct format for delivery to third party
certifcation systems.
The carbon analytics module equips the
organization with the accounting tools needed to
secure carbon credits and qualify for incentives.
Publishing the data can demonstrate an
organization’s commitment to reducing its carbon
impact. The information can also be used as a
tool for educating the building’s users about their
infuence on carbon emissions or setting targets for
individual managers.
5.4 Continuous commissioning
The Galaxy Continuous Commissioning module
continually monitors the performance of a building
system and compares it with its specifcations in
real time. This ensures that any deterioration in
system performance is identifed quickly and can
be rectifed promptly whether for building systems,
subsystems, individual machines or devices. It
undertakes the various types of analysis detailed
below:
Automated Equipment Energy Consumption
Analysis
measures energy consumption and
the operating characteristics of equipment and
compares them with the relevant specifcations,
averages and past performance. This automatically
identifes ineffciencies and allows the system both
to recommend improvements and subsequently
verify the benefts, if the improvements are
implemented.
