4.5 Gbots have immense potential
Gbots can deliver a wide range of intelligent services.
Using Gbots to develop end-to-end solutions for
management of multiple disparate systems in a city can
improve the quality of life for the inhabitants by ensuring
that the buildings and infrastructure are run effciently and
without breakdowns, that services are more responsive,
and by allowing intelligent traffc management to reduce
congestion. Using Galaxy and Gbots to take a holistic
approach to managing a city will also reduce energy use
and thus its Green House Gas (GHG) emissions and
carbon footprint.
Gbots can be used as a comprehensive platform
for decision-makers to simulate situations, create
experiments and run these situations through several
iterations. This facility can be used by businesses to
develop new services and offerings to end users much
more quickly and cost-effectively than if these experiments
were carried out in the real world.
Gbots in Galaxy can monitor assets remotely, track their
operations, and initiate optimization based either on
the user inputs or the Gbots’ own acquired expertise.
Gbots will have a pivotal role to play in the deployment
of electricity Smart Grids in countries such as the U.S,
China, and Korea.
The autonomy of Gbots reduces the need for human
input to decision-making processes eliminating delays.
Gbots, when harnessed properly, will transform ICT in the
next decade. In cloud computing they will have roles in
diverse applications ranging from internet mail services to
enterprise management. The applications discussed here
are only examples, Gbots are a disruptive technology that
will have a huge impact on the industry.
the type of alert. The frst step is to capture data and
compare it with the benchmarks established by the server
from past experience. Corrective action will be taken
automatically using heuristic approaches, such as iterative
measurement and adjustment of process parameters,
until the problem is rectifed. If the local Gbots fail to rectify
the fault, the GCCC will call in the central support team
to resolve the problem, which may mean human experts
at the GCCC fxing the problem remotely. If remote
techniques fail, ultimately a technician will be called out.
Gbots build a knowledge base of information relating
to the system and its maintenance in which details are
stored about: events, failure modes, causes and effects,
frequency of failure, Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), Mean
Time Between Failures (MTBF), equipment reliability, and
overall system, equipment or plant effciency. Gbots help
the facility manager and his maintenance team to plan
scheduled preventive maintenance.
Pacifc Controls is continuously improving the ways
in which Gbots can be used for remote intelligent
diagnostics.
