The building and city management systems, deployed in
Pacifc Controls Galaxy Global Command Control Center
(GCCC), are relied on by commercial and public sector
clients around the world. They have been used to reduce
carbon footprint for many types of building, improve
response time for emergency services and make airports
and universities more effcient. The open interfaces and
easily customized architecture mean that this data mining
capability can be made available to any organization that
has large volumes of data to manage. The GCCC offers
the capability easily to create reports and dashboards
so as to display the results of this data mining in a user
accessible format via almost any web-enabled device.
Pacifc Controls is unique in offering Gbots which are
intelligent software robots that can be created by the
Galaxy platform and dispatched over the network to run
in control systems anywhere in the world to diagnose
faults, analyze data patterns and operate systems. No
other company on the globe offers this capability. The
Gbots take a rule based approach to software and system
management tasks and can communicate with each
other and the Galaxy platform in a responsible and secure
process. Gbots can be confgured dynamically from the
Galaxy GCCC to work with any application.
All over the world, telcos have contemplated playing a
part in the M2M industry. In the past the potential for entry
has been limited by various factors and mostly limited to
industrial uses. The time has come for telcos to step into
the commercially prospective and consumer market of
M2M services. The opportunity awaits for wireless M2M
services as chipsets are getting smaller and commercially
more viable thereby creating a new avenue for connecting
non-traditional consumer devices to the network.
According to recent research, revenues from mobile
connected M2M and embedded devices will rise to $18.9
billion globally by 2014. One-third of the revenues are
projected to arise from consumer & commercial telematics
and vehicle applications. The other areas which will
contribute signifcantly to M2M revenues include mobile
connected buildings, alarm systems, smart grids, and
tracking devices watched from a monitoring center.
