6.2 Colocation cages
The Secure Cage Service provides customers with
an enclosed secured space along with its dedicated
physical security and environmental controls. Pacifc
Controls builds secure colocation cages to meet
specifc customer requirements for varying combinations
of square footage, power, rack specifcations and
physical security devices. Colocation cages are available
in any size that fts with the cold aisle containment
confguration of double rows with each row made of
racks of uniform dimensions of depth and height. They
are powered by dual power sources from redundant
UPS and generator set systems with cabling ducts and
trays suitable for UTP and fber cabling to redundant
Meet Me rooms for carrier connectivity
The Secure Cage Service offers all the features of
the managed colocation including fully redundant
connectivity 24x7 support desk and remote hands and
a dedicated account manager.
The following options are offered:
• 42U racks 800 cm width x 1200 cm depth
• 1/3 Rack
• ½ Rack
• Full Rack
• 42U racks 600 cm width x 1000 cm depth
• lockable rack cabinets
Other sizes can be considered as long as they ft with the
overall data centre confguration and do not interfere with
the cold aisle containment that separates cooling air from
warm exhaust air from the servers.
By adopting Pacifc Controls colocation services,
users beneft from high speed, fully redundant, internet
connectivity, public IP addresses and access ports for
dedicated infrastructure. They get a support desk that is
staffed 24x7 with a single point of contact for service and
support requests. They get access to the data centre
24x7 with access cards for authorized customers.
Customers can also use Pacifc Controls remote hands
service in which the service desk staff undertake tasks
when needed for physical server access, such as loading
and removing of tapes and CDs, or physical server
reboots.
